Rare Comet Visible to the Naked Eye

Astronomers report that a newly discovered comet will soon pass close enough to the Sun to become visible from Earth without telescopes.

As it approaches, the comet will develop a bright glowing tail made of ice, dust, and gas.

Skywatchers are expected to have a limited window to observe the event before the comet continues its journey back into deep space.
